Our 1 ¼” Combex Westhem Sheathing Panels offer a quick, cost-effective alternative to conventional plywood or OSB sheathing for conventionally-framed steel or wood structures. They provide a nominal insulating value of R-6.25, so when using conventional framing and insulation, it’s easy to get an R-19 wall without the added expense of 6” stud framing.

Combex Westhem Sheathing not only provides insulation and a moisture barrier, it meets or exceeds the shear resistance of conventional sheathing.

Combex Westhem Sheathing Panels may be applied with either a standard drywall screw gun on metal studs or pneumatic guns with ring shank or screw nails on wood framing. They go up quickly and can be easily field cut to adapt to various shapes and angles. Best of all, they are waterproof, and eliminate the moisture retention problems of conventional sheathing. That means no more mold or mildew from wet sheathing or spalling and bleed-through problems associated with other stucco finish systems.

Finishing is easy – for masonry or siding, just screw in the anchors or siding directly onto the panels. For stucco, apply elastomeric acrylic joint compound and stucco finish directly to the panel surfaces for a low-cost, color-fast, mold-free stucco finish with the manufacturer’s full 5-year warranty.
